INTERIOR DESIGNER LEAD | SEATTLE

About the Role

As an Interior Design Project Manager, you will oversee the full project lifecycle, ensuring seamless execution from concept to completion. You’ll lead Urbal’s talented interiors team, manage client relationships, and drive the success of multiple projects while maintaining design integrity.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Project & Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of designers, delegating tasks effectively and ensuring high-quality project execution. Oversee all phases of interior design projects, from contract documentation through construction, including budgeting, scheduling, and client communication.

  • Client Engagement: Act as the primary client-facing contact, leading meetings, presenting designs, and ensuring successful relationship management throughout the project.

  • Design Development & Execution: Develop and present high-quality design concepts, programming, space planning, and storytelling through design. Select finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment while ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.

  • Technical Documentation & Coordination: Prepare and manage construction documents, including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, interior elevations, furniture layouts, and specifications. Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project alignment.

  • Financial & Process Oversight: Develop, maintain, and track project budgets across all phases. Prepare and manage client proposals, clearly outlining scope, costs, and deliverables. Lead project review meetings to assess progress, optimize efficiency, and drive quality and profitability within the department.

  • Site Observation & Execution: Conduct field measurements, oversee construction progress, furniture/accessory/art installation, and ensure successful implementation of approved designs. Travel to job sites across the U.S. as necessary.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree or certificate in Interior Design from an accredited program.

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in interior design, with a background in project management and team leadership.

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit with Enscape (or similar rendering software), SketchUp, and Adobe Suite (Photoshop and InDesign preferred).

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Experience with contract documentation, furniture specification, and space planning.

  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations.

  • Self-motivated, process-oriented, and able to work both independently and within a team.

  • Willingness to contribute to the department’s growth, actively shaping and expanding it into a thriving and dynamic interiors division.

    Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 (based on relevant experience)

INTERIOR DESIGNER | SEATTLE

About the Role

As an Interior Designer at Urbal Architecture, you’ll support the development and execution of creative, thoughtful designs across a range of projects. Working alongside Urbal’s talented interiors team, you’ll contribute to all phases of the design process, from initial concepts to final installations, helping to bring spaces to life with precision and creativity.

What You’ll Be Doing

Design Development & Execution: Assist in developing design concepts, programming, space planning, and finish/furniture selections. Create compelling presentations and support storytelling through design narratives.

Technical Documentation & Coordination: Prepare construction documents, including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, interior elevations, furniture layouts, and specifications under the guidance of project leads. Coordinate with vendors and consultants to support project goals.

Client and Team Collaboration: Participate in client meetings, presentations, and project discussions. Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, vendors, and team members to ensure project needs are met.

Field Observation & Implementation: Conduct field measurements, assist in construction administration, attend site visits, and support furniture, accessory, and art installations. Travel to job sites across the U.S. as necessary.

Process & Organizational Support: Assist in maintaining project schedules, budgets, and documentation. Contribute to internal project tracking, and departmental growth initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree or certificate in Interior Design from an accredited program.

  • 3+ years of professional experience in interior design.

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit with Enscape (or similar rendering software), SketchUp, and Adobe Suite (Photoshop and InDesign preferred).

  • Strong communication, organization, and graphic presentation skills.

  • Experience with contract documentation, furniture specification, and space planning.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for fieldwork and installations.

  • Authorization to work in the United States (Urbal Architecture is unable to provide H-1B visa sponsorship).

  • Full-time / In Person Position

    Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 (based on relevant experience)

ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER & PROJECT LEAD | SEATTLE / BOZEMAN

About you:

Our ideal candidate should:

  • Educational Background: Hold a professional degree in architecture (BArch or MArch) from an accredited program.

  • Experience Requirement: Requires at least 4 years of relevant professional experience.

  • Proficiency in Design Software: Must be proficient in SketchUp and Revit; experience with Enscape is a plus.

  • Lead Project Aspects: Responsible for leading certain components of an Urbal project.

  • Client & Consultant Communication: Serve as the primary point of daily communication with clients and consultants.

  • Consultant Coordination: Must demonstrate proficiency in coordinating with consultants effectively.

  • Schedule Implementation: Ensure the project schedule is executed according to plan.

  • Motivated Self-Starter: Be comfortable working in small teams and taking on independent responsibilities.

  • Strong Communication & Graphic Skills: Good communication and graphic skills are essential.

  • Path to Project Manager: This role serves as an intermediate step towards becoming a project manager.

  • Exhibit some level of proficiency in Sketchup, Auto-CAD and Revit (strongly preferred).
