Chad Lorentz earned a BA in Architecture from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Architecture from the University of Washington. He has over 20 years of experience as a designer, project manager, and project architect of single family, multifamily, mixed-use, and senior housing projects across the U.S. and China. Many of his projects have won distinguished local and national awards. Chad has a particular interest in regional architecture and unifying buildings with their site and context.

CHAD LORENTZ

In May 2015, Alex graduated with a Masters of Architecture from Montana State University. He is passionate about good detailing and quality craftsmanship, and he especially enjoys the fabrication process and woodworking. Growing up in Bozeman, Montana, Alex spent his formidable years adventuring around the nearby mountain ranges and long-boarding with his family Malamute.

ALEX DALZELL
Associate | Bozeman

Ana Mattos earned her Bachelor of Industrial Design in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She has been working in the communication field since 2002. As a graphic designer and art director, Ana is passionate about finding the best tools to execute and create holistic visual solutions for different types of projects.In November 2021, Ana joined Urbal Architecture to allow us the option to integrate brand services into architecture projects and provide graphic design solutions for any of our client’s needs.Friendly, cooperative, multitasking, and good at getting things done, she loves to make new friends and always has a positive word to say. In her free time, Ana enjoys playing with her inseparable dog, Catcho.

ANA MATTOS
Associate, Graphic Designer

Ilse originally from Chihuahua Mexico, moved to seattle from el paso to further her studies. Graduated with an MBA from Seattle university and a master's in architecture from University of Washington in 2019. With a great interest in single family and multi- family residential design, her work has focused on creating spaces that evoke the sense of belonging. In her spare time, Ilse likes to explore the city and its surroundings, preferably on a bike as well as spending time with her cat Zaha.

ILSE ROESCH
Project Lead

Hanna graduated from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, in 2020 with a BS degree in Architecture. She is interested in adaptive reuse and vernacular building techniques and styles. During her travels she enjoys seeing the differences in cities due to their cultures and geographic locations. Outside of architecture and traveling, she can be found cooking, sketching, or picking up a new hobby.

HANNA LINDBLAD
Design Professional

Andrew earned his Bachelor of Science in interior design in 2020 from Indiana University Bloomington. He has always been interested in sustainable architecture and after graduating with minors in architectural history and environmental sustainability, he worked as an Interior Designer at a firm in Indiana. Seeking something different, he moved out west in 2021 and graduated with his master's in architecture from the University of Oregon in 2024. He is now passionate about adaptive reuse and innovative ways to incorporate passive systems into architecture. His thesis explored the cultural identity of "Queer Space", the connection between identity and architecture, and how architecture can play a role in the prevention of institutional violence. Outside of architecture, Andrew loves traveling, baking, and taking care of his plants.

ANDREW MILLER
Design Professional

Chloe graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture and Design. Born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado, she made the exciting decision to relocate to Seattle after graduation. Chloe is passionate about creating design solutions that not only enhance the aesthetic of a space but also have a profound impact on how people feel and interact within it. She believes that thoughtful design goes beyond the surface, shaping environments that inspire and uplift.

Outside of work, Chloe enjoys exploring her new city, spoiling her dog Sadie, and making jewelry.

CHLOE BOTT
Interior Designer

Annabel is an interior design intern currently in her third year at Bellevue College pursuing her BA in Interior Design. She was born and raised in the PNW and is inspired by designs that incorporate the natural environment, sustainability, and historical architecture. In her free time, Annabel enjoys reading, gardening, and dancing along to fun music.

ANNABEL SHAW
Interior Designer Intern

Aya earned her BA in Architecture from the University of Washington in Seattle and her Masters of Architecture from Washington University in Saint Louis. Previously working at Coates Design in Bainbridge Island, she has experience in single family residential design and renovation, as well as project management. Along with a love for the collaborative design effort inherent in building design, Aya’s main interests outside of the office include food and more food.

AYA ROJNUCKARIN
Associate, Architect | Seattle

BRAD GRADUATED FROM THE MASTER OF ARCHITECTURE PROGRAM AT THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON IN 2017. HIS UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE WAS FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON IN SOCIOLOGY, WHICH GIVES HIM AN APPRECIATION OF HOW ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN CAN INFLUENCE AND POSITIVELY AFFECT BOTH INDIVIDUAL USERS AND LARGER COMMUNITIES. AS A RESULT, HIS WORK DURING HIS GRADUATE PROGRAM HAS FOCUSED ON COMMUNITY, THE END USER, AND WITH A SPECIAL INTEREST IN THE ACTUAL BUILDING PROCESS. HE HAS WORKED PREVIOUSLY IN A SMALL FIRM FOCUSING ON RESIDENTIAL WORK. IN HIS SPARE TIME, HE CAN BE FOUND SPENDING TIME WITH HIS WIFE AND TWO YOUNG KIDS. BRAD CO-MANAGES the portland office with russell.

BRAD ECKLUND
Associate | Portland

Devon graduated in 2016 with a Masters of Architecture and an Associate of Interior Design from Montana State University in Bozeman, MT. Born and raised in small-town Montana, she always had a passion for design and creating beautiful spaces. She has gained an array of valuable knowledge thus far in her career working on various projects in Montana, Washington, Oregon and Vancouver, BC. Her love for this industry comes from passion for design and truly getting to know clients and consultants and working with them to develop a project. In her free time, Devon enjoys camping with her husband in their vintage 1965 camper. She also enjoys spending time cuddling and reading with her dog, Olive Green.

Project Manager

Ivan is a first generation college graduate, he recently graduated from the University of Washington with BA of Architectural Design. He was born in Seattle and raised in Federal Way. In his free time he likes to take his dog Mayito out on walks, and enjoys going out dancing

KARL graduated with a masters in architecture in 2022 in Portland after spending 4 or so years working in accounting and finance. Outside of architecture, he likes music, basketball, and nature.

After graduating with a masters in Architecture from the University of Kansas in 2024, Brenna made the move to Seattle. She was born and raised in Kansas City, MO and is looking forward to exploring the new area. Outside of architecture, she enjoys reading, hiking, and playing with her cat, Nimbus.

VICKY started out at a woman’s medical clinic before a chance encounter brought her into the world of design and ALL THE CHALLENGES THAT COME WORKING IN AN ARCHITECT’S OFFICE. She has a unique gift for understanding the “small print”, can explain how to navigate insurance, and oversees all of our contracts and billings . VICKY BIYO
Office Administrator

Flavia has a diverse professional background, having supported top-level executives as an Executive Assistant, coordinated patient care for a busy dental practice, and owned and managed a travel company. Her experience also includes significant achievements in project management within the Department of Justice in Brazil.
She holds a certification in Project Management from the University of Washington and is also a certified Real Estate Broker.
Flavia has an adventurous spirit. Outside of work, she enjoys cold plunging at Golden Gardens, hiking in our beautiful mountains, hanging out with friends, and exploring local breweries.

FLAVIA KOETZ
Office Administrator

erin earned his master of architecture degree from university of minnesota along with his undergraduate degree of a ba in ARCHITECTURE. he has over 20 years of experience as a designer and project manager at other firms working on a wide variety of projects including single family, multifamily, mixed use, assisted living and retail projects. he has taken numerous projects from inception all the way through entitlements and completed projects. he has the strong ability to work and engage with anyone on the project from clients to planners, consultants, reviewers, inspectors and the construction team to see a successful project through to completion. in his spare time he can be found traveling, skiing, biking, remodeling his house and spending time with his family.

ERIN KELLY
Associate | Seattle

Russell earned his Master of Architecture in 2013 from Washington State University. He is dedicated to work that generates and sustains relationships embedded in community. During his graduate studies, Russell focused his attention toward developing strategies to enhance social and environmental sustainability. His thesis: Social Serendipity, examined serendipitous interaction as a revitalizing effort to improve community vitality. In all cases, Russell believes architecture must respect and adapt to its context. Russell moved to portland and now co-manages the portland office.

RUSSELL LESIEUR
Associate | Portland

Brad graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture in 2011 and a Master of Architecture in 2013 from the College of Design at the University of Kentucky. He has always been interested in residential design first and foremost with experience in single-family, multi-family, and historic renovation. Originally from the Midwest, Brad recently relocated to Seattle and spends most of his free time exploring the city and surrounding areas.

BRAD AUSTIN
Project Manager

Morgan was born in Western Kentucky, in one of the many small towns along the Ohio River. With dreams of Architecture she set off for the University of Cincinnati where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture in 2017. The world of architecture is continuously evolving and she is fascinated with incorporating the latest developments and trends into her work. She enjoys the process of developing a design concept into a buildable reality. In her free time, Morgan enjoys traveling, trying out new foods, and spending time with her husband and two dogs.

MORGAN HOLLAND
Project Lead

Kiel earned his BA in Architectural Design at the University of Washington in 2022. He has a passion for design that is inspiring and environmentally responsible. Born and raised in the Seattle area, Kiel grew up exploring the forests, mountains, and islands of the Pacific Northwest. In his free time you can find him hiking, skiing, or travelling to new and exciting places.

KIEL SCHARBACH
Design Professional

Morghan graduated with a degree in interior design in 2017 and has since had the opportunity to work on a various range of projects. A PNW native, she is especially inspired by biophilic design and exploring ways to bring natural elements into our daily spaces. When she’s not designing you can find her seeking out all the good food, and snuggled up with her pup kuna.

MORGHAN BULAT
Head of Interior Design

After graduating from Scripps College with a degree in psychology and sociology, Katie worked at a law firm for several years before moving into the nonprofit world of fundraising and event planning. She eventually went on to study interior design, but took a slight detour to raise two kids and spend two years living in Europe with her family. In her free time you can usually find her traveling, reading, volunteering, attending her kids’ activities, or walking her dogs.
